Basuki: Puddles in Jakarta Recede Quickly

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that puddle that had hit the capital on Monday (11/2) yesterday night will recede soon. Even, his party could know the problems that happened at some point as quick response. Thus it can be directly handled when rain pours.

"Minimally, the puddle can recede quickly. There are some points. Rain last night was good, which is as our evaluation material," Ahok stated, at City Hall, Tuesday (11/3).

Relaying on evaluation result, there are some points that should be fixed, such as Kebon Kacang and other points in North Jakarta where many gutters are malfunctioned. Because they do not connected with water channel.

Basuki Wants ITF Project to Be Built Soon

"Like in Kebon Kacang Grand Indonesia, lots of sidewalks used illegally, including some points in North Jakarta. So, the gutter is actually cement," he exclaimed.

According to him, the existing gutter can only be seen outside, yet malfunctioned. Aside that, the holes that have been made is 10-20 cm width. "Yet the water does not flow well," he expressed.

He went on the say that many pumps still being improved, and is hoped could be complete prior to the end of this year. Thus they can reduce puddle well.

As known, on Monday (11/2) night, most areas of the capital were hit by rain with moderate-heavy intensity. The rain that fell last night was the first time after several months of no rain.
